At TourPix, your privacy is a priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

A. Real-Time Location Data

  • How we use it: We access your precise geographical location strictly to identify points of interest and landmarks near you for your active session.
  • Data practices: TourPix does not build a location history. We do not sell, rent, or share your coordinates with any third parties or advertisers. Location data is processed locally or ephemerally on our servers only for the duration of that session.

B. Camera and Photo Data

  • How we use it: When you scan a landmark, the photo is processed solely to identify the object or location using our image recognition systems.
  • Data practices: Photos are used strictly to identify your location, we do not use them to train machine learning models, and we never attach images to your user account. Your scanned photos will remain on your logged in account only.

C. Account and Profile Data

If you voluntarily create an account with us, we collect:

  • Email Address: To authenticate your login and manage your account.
  • Explored Log: A history of places you have visited, saved to your profile so your data persists across sessions and devices.

2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for collecting and using your data depends on the context:

  • Consent: For accessing your device's location services and camera, we rely on your explicit system-level permission. You can revoke this anytime in your device settings.
  • Contractual Necessity: We process your email and explored log to provide the core account features you requested.

3. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

  • Retention: We retain your email and explored log for as long as your account remains active.
  • Your Rights: You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.
  • How to delete: You can request the complete deletion of your account, email, and history at any time via the app or contact us at hello@tourpix.app, and we will purge your data from our active databases within 30 days.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell your personal data. However, we may use trusted third-party services to help run our app (such as cloud hosting or app store analytics). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and are strictly prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

5. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.
